Skye Bennett: In Her Own Words
Skye Bennett, also known by her stage name, "Deva St. John," is an actor and music artist based in the UK. I worked in tandem with her to create a short-form documentary about her life, struggles with Cystic Fibrosis, and musical aspirations. The entirety of the doc is narrated by her using audio recorded during our interview session. This never before seen look into her life includes entries from her video diary, behind-the-scenes footage from concerts and recording booths, as well as a selection of her own music.
Working on this with Skye was an absolute honor and I look back on this as one of the most rewarding projects I have ever worked on. All profits generated from the video are also donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
An Interview With: Sara Weeda
I sat down with award winning musician and vocalist Sara Weeda for an episode of my podcast interview series, "An Interview With." Sara is not just a longtime member of world-famous vocal ensemble "Anúna." She's also a member of their female focused project, "SYSTIR," as well as the guitarist and vocalist for the folk band, "SeeD."
During our casual conversation we spoke about her recent participation in the soundtrack for "Xenoblade Chronicles 3," how she got into the music industry, her favorite artists, and aspirations for the future.
The GameStop Xenoblade Scam
An exposé on the controversial gaming storefront GameStop. This short documentary chronicles the company's borderline illegal practices and market manipulation in the game collection space in the early 2010s. The backlash at the time was loud, but short-lived. Shocked at the lack of long term coverage on the incident, I decided to do deep dive into the conspiracy! Join me as I recount my own experiences of the scam as well as the reactions of others.
Xenoblade's LGBTQ Representation
Created for Pride Month 2023, this video highlights possible queer coded characters within the Xenoblade series. Throughout the series' almost 25 year history, hundreds of characters have been introduced with varying personalities. I hope this video is able to highlight alternate perspectives and educate viewers on media literacy.
What is the Zohar?
In the "Xeno" series of games, an object known as "the Zohar" is a common recurring plot device. This particular object as well as the events surrounding it take major inspiration from Jewish mysticism, 2001: A Space Odyssey, and quantum physics. It's for these reasons that I decided to cover all aspects of the Zohar in a video alongside a friend. This comprehensive video covers the history as well as physical and meta-physical attributes of the Zohar. It is in my opinion that "What is the Zohar?" is the most digestible and accessible way to learn about this particular topic in the world.
